Whistleblowing and Protected Disclosures

The transposition of the EU Whistleblowing Directive into Irish law, taking place this year, creates new obligations for employers and will require that companies of over 50 staff establish systems to receive and deal with whistleblowing reports. This is an important time for organisations to review their whistleblowing procedures and ensure they are in line with both the legislation and best practice principles.
