Rob Leslie, Founder and CEO of Sedicii

Sedicii was founded in 2013 and has won over 20 technology and innovations awards to date for its work in the developing world of Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs). PETs help people and businesses build secure data collaborations without compromising confidentiality or privacy; there is no sharing of data but data can still be processed. Rob is a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer for his work on PET’s and has spoken at Davos on cybersecurity, digital identity and other technology issues affecting the world’s economies. Prior to Sedicii, Rob co-founded Kyckr (ASX:KYK) which is now listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and provides organisational identity services for KYC & AML services to banks and other regulated financial institutions across the globe”.

Nicola Flannery, Director, Data Privacy and Internet Reg, Deloitte Ireland

Nicola is a Director within Deloitte Ireland’s Risk Advisory department, leading out on Data Privacy and Internet Regulation.  Her industry background is predominantly in Tech organisations and she has led on some of Deloitte’s largest privacy engagements across all sectors, supporting clients with all elements of privacy risk. She is an SME in Privacy by Design (PbD), including the use of PbD across digital products and services (e.g. AI, Metaverse).  She has extensive experience across end-to-end data protection:  managing GDPR maturity assessments at system and department level as well as developing and operationalising data protection frameworks, providing privacy SME support for remediation programmes and data retention remediation as well as carrying out DPIAs across the use of new technologies. She has recently been appointed as an external expert to the Council of Europe Data Protection Unit.  Her qualifications include a Masters in Commercial Law and a Diploma in Technology Law.  She is a Fellow of the IAPP (FIP) and holds a CIPP/E and CIPM.  She is a strong advocate for Women in Cyber and actively participates in Diversity & Inclusion and co-leads Deloitte Irelands Mental Health Committee.

Sean O’Sullivan B.L. , Co-Chair of OUTLaw

OUTLaw seeks to promote the interests of LGBT+ people working in the legal sector in Ireland.  He is a member of the Irish Bar at the Law Library and a CEDR Accredited Mediator.  He practises in the areas of Commercial & Contract Disputes, Corporate Insolvency & Restructuring and Banking & Financial Services.  He has a particular focus on Privacy and Data Protection Law, where he advises data controllers and processors and has represented Privacy and Data Protection activist Max Schrems at all levels of the Irish Superior Courts and in the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Sean graduated from UCD with a Bachelor of Civil law Degree, before being called to the Irish Bar in 2008.  In 2009 he completed a Masters-in-Law at Boston College Law School before clerking for Chief Judge William G. Young in the U.S. Federal District Court in Boston, Massachusetts.  He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2019.

Rob Corbet, Partner, Head of Technology & Innovation, Arthur Cox

Rob's practice is primarily focused on technological innovation where he has extensive Intellectual Property and IT law experience. Rob leads a market-leading practice in privacy and data protection, advising many of Ireland's largest companies in this area with his practice extending to specialist areas of betting, gaming and sports law. He has been widely published on IT, IP and related matters both domestically and internationally and has lectured internationally on technology law, data protection, cloud-computing, open source, betting and gaming regulation and intellectual property. Rob currently sits on the Irish Government's Data Forum and is a former co-chair of the American Bar Association Section of International Law Committee on Privacy E-Commerce & Data Security and is a member Compliance Institute, DP&IS Working Group.
