Carlo Salizzo
Carlo Salizzo is a senior associate (New Zealand-qualified) within Matheson’s Technology and Innovation Group, based in Dublin. Carlo assists the firm’s clients across a range of matters with a focus on data protection, as well as information technology contracting, licensing and general compliance. Carlo has assisted a number of large multinational corporations and financial institutions with a wide array of data protection projects, including full-scale GDPR compliance projects, the establishment of Irish operations, implementation of international transfer frameworks, management of major data breach incidents and responding to contentious data subject requests. Given the close relationship between data protection compliance and outsourcing, Carlo is also experienced in negotiating complex multi-year services arrangements and managing the associated compliance requirements.

Donald MacKinnon
Donald is a senior government advisor in the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport. He previously helped the UK government to deliver the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and implement the GDPR, and has worked on various other regulations on data protection and data policy relating to law enforcement and national security. He is currently helping the UK government develop its international data transfers regime to provide organisations with effective means of protecting personal data shared outside the UK.
